Nestled between Greensboro to the north, Woodbury to the south, Walden to the east, and Wolcott to the west, Hardwick boasts a landscape that is not predominantly mountainous. The Lamoille River flows into the town from the northeast corner, providing plentiful milling opportunities with its tributaries. The town's southeastern half is situated on the western slope of the eastern range of the Green Mountains.
